What we collect
The site has no user accounts and no newsletter. We never sell or rent any data.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we keep the name, email address and text you enter, along with the IP address it was sent from, to moderate comments and prevent spam. Your email address is never published. Comments are kept as long as they stay online; you can ask for yours to be deleted.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and which links are clicked. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes browsing data (pages viewed, device type, country, traffic source). We use this data only to improve the site. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.
Traffic statistics
To know which pages are read and where our visitors come from, our server logs each visit: the page, the site you came from, the browser type, the date and time, and your truncated IP address (its last two bytes are removed as soon as it is recorded, so you cannot be identified). When you click a link to a retailer (Amazon, Awin), we also record that click and the page it came from. No cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device for this measurement. An anonymous fingerprint, renewed every day, lets us count the visitors of a given day without recognizing you from one day to the next. This data is used only for statistics, is never sold or shared, and is kept for at most 400 days (legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the site’s audience).
Affiliate links
When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies, on its own site, to credit a possible purchase. That processing falls under Amazon’s privacy policy. Our affiliate links are explained on our affiliate disclosure page.
If you write to us
Your email address and message are used only to reply to you. They are shared with no one and deleted on request.
